Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Writinglog you agree to these terms.

2. The service

Writinglog is a writing tool that helps you start a piece and finish it. It provides manuscript editing with autosave, manuscript snapshots, length conversion, goals, notes, a practice course, and export and import.

The service is in beta and entirely free. If paid features are introduced we will announce them in advance and update these terms. Reading and exporting your own manuscripts will remain free.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for your account and sign-in method, and for activity that happens under your account.

4. Your manuscripts

You own everything you write in Writinglog. We handle your manuscripts only as needed to provide the service (storing, displaying, backing up) and do not use them to train AI.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not access another person's account or manuscripts without permission
• Do not disrupt the service or send excessive automated requests
• Do not upload unlawful content

6. Length conversion and contest information

Character and manuscript-page conversions are estimates, and the contest calendar is compiled by hand. Always check the organizer's official rules before submitting.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time under Settings > Data. Deleting it removes the account and your manuscripts.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. Autosave and snapshots are there to protect your work, but we recommend exporting important manuscripts as well. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages.

9. Changes

Changes to these terms are posted on this page, and significant changes are announced in the service in advance.
